La Bassine Maxi Pool Rental Agreement

Thank you for choosing to rent a birth pool from New Spirit Arrivals ~ Birth + Postpartum Services.

Within 24 hours of submitting this rental agreement, you will receive a confirmation email along with an invoice for the $75 damage deposit. This deposit is required to complete the reservation of your birth pool rental unit.

Final payment for the rental will be due prior to pickup or delivery. Upon return and inspection of the unit, assuming no damage is found, your damage deposit will be fully refunded within 7-10 business days.

The following rental agreement is made between Rylie Geant of New Spirit Arrivals (the “Owner”) and the individual named below (the “Renter”). By completing this agreement, the Renter agrees to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

Delivery and pick up, with a minimum charge of $50 applied for this service. Pick up, with a minimum charge of $25 applied for this service. I (the renter) will arrange the pickup & return of the birth pool in Vancouver for no added charge.
Delivery and pick up rates are based on mileage and location. A quote will be provided. (Changes can be made as needed)
Terms and Conditions

1. The La Bassine Birth Pool will be used in accordance with the instructions provided with the rental unit.

2. The La Bassine Birth Pool being rented is for the sole use of the person named on this form and is non-transferable.

3. The birth pool will be inspected prior to dispatch to ensure it is in good working condition and ready for use. It must be returned in the same condition.

4. The renter agrees to use the disposable liner included with the rental. The pool must never be used without a liner. Use of the pool without the liner can lead to hygiene issues and violate rental conditions.

5. The rental includes the following items:
- Step-by-step setup/take down instructions
- New fitted liner (phthalate-free)
- New lead-free, non-toxic 25' drinking water hose
- Two universal faucet adaptors
- Electric air pump
- Submersible pump
- Thermometer
- Debris net
- 2.4 m x 3.6 m (8' x 12') plastic sheet

6. If the pool, any part of it, or additional rental equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, or not returned in the same working condition, the renter will be charged the replacement value of the item.

7. The rental period starts at 37 weeks gestation and ends 3-5 days after the baby is born. The rental unit must be returned or picked up within five days after birth unless otherwise agreed with the owner. Failure to return the equipment will result in a full replacement charge of $500.

8. It is the renter’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the pool and equipment by reading the instructions provided. If any issues are discovered, the owner must be notified immediately. The owner is not responsible for unresolved issues if not contacted right away.

9. All original pieces must be returned, with the exception of the one-time-use items: the pool liner, drinking water hose, and plastic sheeting.

10. Wet or damp items must be dried before packing, if possible, or double-bagged to prevent leakage.

11. A minimum deposit of $75 or full payment is required upon receiving confirmation of the reservation. Payments can be made via email money transfer to Rylie@newspiritarrivals.ca.

Rental Fees
The La Bassine Maxi Birth Pool is $219 (+ $75 damage deposit, refunded upon return and inspection of the unit, with no damage) for the rental period beginning at 37 weeks gestation up until a maximum of 3 days after the intended renter has given birth. Delivery and pickup service is a minimum of $50 within Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster & Richmond. Additional fees will apply for other areas.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. If the rental agreement is cancelled prior to the rental period beginning, the renter will be refunded the rental fee less the deposit of $75 for reservation of the pool.

2. No refund will be made after the unit has been received by the renter or for non-use of the pool.

Precautions & Warnings

1. Damage may occur to the pool, equipment or personal belongings if the included instructions are not followed properly.

2. Never leave children unattended in the vicinity of the pool, especially if the pool has been filled.

3. Keep pets and all sharp objects away from the pool, equipment and liner at all times.

4. Keep all electrical devices a minimum of 3 m or 10' away from the filled pool at all times.

5. If you or your birth partner suffer from heart disease, high or low blood pressure, do not enter the pool without medical supervision.

6. The water must be maintained between a temperature of 36-37°C for safe use and delivery.

7. DO NOT OVERFILL. Fill the pool to just below the indicated fill line and ensure the water never passes this line when people are in the pool.

Waiver of Liability

1. I, the renter WILL NOT hold Rylie Geant of New Spirit Arrivals responsible or liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the La Bassine Birth Pool.
